The Amarillo Flames Activities Association is a vibrant, Christ-centered homeschool organization based in Amarillo, Texas, dedicated to igniting passion for sports, arts, and personal growth among homeschooled students. Guided by the principle from Colossians 3:23—“Whatever you do, do from the heart, as for the Lord, and not for men”—we strive to foster an environment where young athletes and participants can develop their skills, build lasting friendships, and honor God through excellence, teamwork, and integrity.
At this time, the Amarillo Flames Activities Association proudly offers boys’ basketball for homeschooled students in Amarillo, Texas.
We are excited about expanding our offerings and have plans to introduce additional sports and arts programs to enrich our homeschool community. If you’re interested in volunteering to help start these new programs, please contact our President, Laura Kisby, through email or social media. We’d love to have your support!

Hey Flames Family! I’m Laura Kisby, your proud President of the Amarillo Flames, and I’m so blessed to serve our Christian homeschool basketball community! 🏀💖 As a mama to four amazing kids—Satchel, Piper, Posey, and my oldest, Ella, who’s now graduated—I pour my heart into homeschooling them and cheering them on. My son Satchel joined the Flames in the 2023-2024 season, and seeing him grow through this program lit a fire in me to ensure every player has the best coaches and opportunities to shine. My faith in Christ guides everything I do, and I’m thrilled to lead this team with love, unity, and a passion for helping our kids grow on and off the court. Here’s to building a strong, God-honoring community together! 🙏
Shawnna is a wife and proud homeschooling mom of two boys. She and her husband, Todd, have been married for over 20 years and love building a Christ-centered life together. Their family is proud to be part of the Classical Conversations homeschooling community, where they have found support and connection throughout their 12 years of homeschooling.
When she’s not homeschooling, Shawnna works full time as a Patient Concierge at AgeWell, where she enjoys helping patients feel supported and cared for. She is also a certified yoga instructor, bringing mindfulness and balance into both her personal life and community.
In her free time, Shawnna loves spending time with Todd and their boys, especially when it involves being outdoors—whether it’s hiking, camping, or simply soaking up the sunshine. As the Treasurer for The Flames, she is excited to use her skills to help support and grow the group’s mission.

My name is Carrie Homer. I am the proud mother of two wonderful sons, Jayden and Blade, and the bonus mom to two amazing daughters, their husbands, and a precious grandson. Our home is also filled with love for many four-legged family members.
My husband, Corey, is the owner of Homerun Construction in Bushland. I am a former public school teacher and childcare center owner, and I currently have the privilege of homeschooling my youngest son as well as teaching a small group of other children.
I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and I’m thrilled to serve as secretary while supporting my son Blade and this outstanding group of respectful young men.

Hello Flames Family! I’m Bruce Rodgers. In recent years, I have served as the Assistant Athletic Director and as a coach to the Flames. I currently serve as the Athletic Director and an Assistant Coach for the Amarillo Flames Basketball Association. It is an honor and privilege to work around such amazing young men and coaches! I work at Pantex and have been there for about twenty years. I also serve with the youth group and the children’s department at my church, Paramount Baptist. My wife Cynthia and I have three kids - Lily, Dylan, and Ella. My son, Dylan, joined the Flames in the 2022-2023 basketball season, and it has been amazing to watch him grow over the years both physically and spiritually. As a strong Christian team, we try to show what living for God looks like both on and off the court. So, let’s continue to build and grow a firm Christ-Centered basketball family! I’m so excited to see what God has in store for this basketball season!
I am Jay Kisby, assistant athletic director for the Amarillo Flames basketball organization. I take great pride in watching my son, Satchel, develop as a player since the 2023-2024 season, though his growth in character is truly inspiring. Employed at Pantex since 2011 and an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, I have been happily married to my wife, Laura, for nearly 23 years. Together, we raise our four children: Ella, Satchel, Piper, and Posey. My interests include traveling, family time, visiting theme parks, and supporting the University of Kentucky basketball program. I eagerly anticipate the upcoming Amarillo Flames season.
Todd owns/operates 7Athlete, a physical fitness business headquartered in Amarillo, TX. He received a track and field scholarship to Texas A&M University where he received a BS in Kinesiology and began his career as a strength and conditioning coach. He went on coach in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks before branching out with his own proprietary fitness system to coach an ever-expanding array of professional and tactical athletes. Todd currently lives a blessed life in the Texas Panhandle with his wife Shawnna, sons Jackson and Jasper, and pups Super and Johnny Cash. When not coaching the Flames he can be found hanging out with fam or adventuring in the great outdoors.
